Halloween can be a fun time for everyone, but we must be mindful of the potential dangers. The Fort Worth Police Dept. wants to remind us of ways to protect our children.- Watch your child as they go door to door.
- Only allow them to accept candy from neighbors you know.
- Never enter a home upon invitation, unless you are with the child and you know the neighbor.
- Never eat candy that looks opened or unwrapped.
- Wear something reflective or carry a flashlight in the dark.
- Know where the sex offenders live in the area and do not let your children go to those homes alone.
To find the sex offenders in Woodland Springs go to https://records.txdps.state.tx.us/soSearch/default.cfm or http://www.familywatchdog.us/

What is National Night Out?
It's America's Night Out Against Crime!
The "23rd Annual National Night Out" (NNO), a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 1, 2006. We cordially invite you and your community to be a part of our NIGHT OUT 2006 team.
Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 34 million people participated in NNO 2005.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
NATW and National Night Out.
Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, cities, towns and neighborhoods 'celebrate' NNO with a variety of events and activities such as:
- block parties,
- cookouts,
- visits from local police and sheriff departments
- parades, exhibits,
- flashlight walks,
- contests, and
- youth programs.
NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Plus, the benefits your community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night.

When: October 29, 2005
Starting Point: In front of the school in the driveway
Time: Starts at 1:00pm – Get there early!
Parking: Woodland Springs Drive will be blocked off starting in front of the elementary school to the WS park for vendors to set up starting at 11am on Saturday morning. Parking is limited, so please park on the side of the school until full, then down Woodland Springs Drive or side streets. Parking will be limited, so we strongly recommend walking or carpooling to the event.Bathrooms: School bathrooms will be open during the walk and the fall festival so lets be respectful of the school while we are using them.
Purpose: Parents, this is for a fabulous cause - our school’s Literacy Library. We do not have all of the resources we need yet. We will have a spirit booth for those in our community who want to donate during the event. Our school gets every dime we raise and it will be put to great use.
Pledges: Due on Friday 28th. Your child has a very special opportunity to win a big prize. Just collect a minimum of $25 to receive a free t-shirt.
