Here's Another Chance for Low Cost Pet Tags and Vaccinations

Fort Worth is offering license and rabies vaccination for only $4 and Microchip ID's for $10

A low-cost pet license and vaccination clinic will be held this Saturday to increase the number of pets with current identification and rabies vaccinations. The annual city pet license usually costs $7 and a rabies vaccination can cost even more. However, in order to increase the number of animals with current identification, and protect residents and pets from rabies, the city is offering both the license and the three-year rabies vaccination for only $4.

Also, a new technology in animal identification - the microchip - is being offered to those who are interested for an additional $10. A microchip offers pets a permanent form of identification.

When and Where: Pet licenses, rabies vaccinations and microchips will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 10 at Lake Como Park, located at 3500 Como Park Drive (MAP).

Think twice before posting that sign you could be fined up to $200.

According to city ordinance, it’s unlawful to post, fasten, erect, display or locate any sign on any structure, tree, pole, curb, or elsewhere within rights of way on any public street or on private property.

That means that “Lose 10 Pounds in Two Weeks” signs as well as garage sale, house cleaning, lost-a-pet and lawn care signs are illegal anywhere.

Garage sale signs can be posted for three consecutive days in the front yard of the person conducting the sale — one sign per yard, though.

Note from The Villages of Woodland Springs Covenants;

No sign of any kind shall be displayed to the public view on any Lot, except one (1) professional security service sign of not more than one square foot, one (1) sign of not more than five square feet advertising the property for rent or sale, political signs during election periods only as permitted by the City, or signs used by a Builder to advertise the Property during the construction and sales period, each of which shall, in any event, comply with all statutes, laws or ordinances governing same. The Board of Directors or its agents shall have the right to remove any sign, billboard or other advertising structure that does not comply with the above, and in so doing shall not be subject to any liability for trespass or otherwise in connection with such removal. (DCC&R – 5.28.8)

The Government Sub-Committee is currently studying the state of emergency services provided to our community. We are comparing the published data regarding these service levels with that of other comparable sized cities in our state. Data that we are comparing includes staffing levels, response time, total stations, and available equipment. We will also be speaking directly to the departments responsible for providing these services to our community. We want to reinforce that our intentions are to support our emergency services personnel. If they are properly trained, staffed, and equipped, it makes their dangerous jobs much safer.

Fort Worth is implementing a mandatory sectorized ban on outdoor watering for the area between Denton Highway 377 and Jacksboro Highway 199, north of Loop 820 (which is all of the Villages of Woodland Springs).

This is effective immediately and will be in effect until the main is repaired and returned to service. Repairs are anticipated to take at least 24 hours.

This ban applies to Fort Worth and affected wholesale customers. Affected wholesale customers, listed below, are also imposing similar outdoor restrictions. Customer communities include Haltom City, Haslet, Keller, Lake Worth, North Richland Hills, Northlake, Roanoke, Saginaw, Southlake, Trophy Club and Westlake.

The Water Director implemented this ban on outdoor watering due to the rupture of a 54-inch line at N. Beach and Belknap. This is a main transmission line that provides water to north Fort Worth and wholesale customers in that area.

North Beach between 121 and Belknap is completely closed. Residents are encouraged to seek an alternative route of travel to avoid this area. Fort Worth residents wishing to report water emergencies should call 817-FW-24HRS (817-392-4477).

With summer just around the corner, many Fort Worth residents will take time to clean out junk rooms and host that great American event — a garage sale.

But before setting out “another man’s treasure,” residents should be aware of city codes affecting garage sales. To avoid receiving a citation, ask yourself the following questions:

♦ How many garage sales have I had already this year? Only two per year are allowed.

NOTE: The two Villages of Woodland Springs Community Wide Garage Sales, count as the two allowed per year! If you participate in both the Community Garage Sales, you CAN NOT have your own garage sales.

As the fastest growing neighborhood in North Fort Worth, volunteers are always welcome and needed to ensure our safe, family friendly community for all home owners and their guests. The Fort Worth Citizens on Patrol (Code Blue) program allows private citizens to be the "eyes and ears" of the Fort Worth police.

Code Blue members are issued special Code Blue identification (shirts, hats, jackets and badges) as well as police radios. The time spent patrolling our neighborhood is completely voluntary. For more information visit the Crime Watch / Code Blue section on our website.

The “No Food” policy at our pools has been rescinded.

Homeowners are now free to bring their food items into the gated pool areas. Please be aware there are no “busboys” cleaning the tables, so be kind to the other homeowners and clean up your area when you leave. Also pay close attention on windy days that food and papers do not blow into the pool. Thank you for keeping our pool area clean and safe for all neighbors.
