I believe the minimum age should be raised as well. I would like to see it raised to 18 due to a hopefully higher maturity standard.

I would love to see the pool age raised to 18 myself. Hormonal unsupervised teenagers have hurt physically and emotionally our family every year now. We have been held hostage to their whims and have had no recourse. Due to the irresponsibility of those many boys, I believe the age should be raised so I and my young children can have the safe pool community we moved out here in part for.

The age should absolutely be raised to AT LEAST 16, but I agree that 18 would be best.

I agree with the previous comments. The minimum age for unsupervised children should be changed to 18. The pool should not be used as a babysitting service.

I would also like to suggest that we add no smoking in pool area and no consuming alcoholic beverages in pool area to the pool rules. Both of which I have seen at our pools.

If enough homeowners felt this was a problem, then we could ask the Advisory Committee to consider these items as new rules. So far this is the only time I have heard anyone suggest this. If other homeowners have an opinion, please feel free to voice it.

I agree that the swimming pool should be raised to 18 unless they can present a valid texas drivers license. Perhaps if their responsible enough to drive, they could be responsible at the pool. The pool should NOT be used as a babysitter for wild 14 - 18 year old children.

I think 14 is an okay age, apparently these people do not have teenagers YET!! They have rights too. We pay our dues just like you & should have the right for our older children to have fun in the summer. This neighborhood is made for all ages, young & old, not just for the toddlers. When my son was 12 he actually saved a young child from drowning in a pool, so please don't be so judgmental. Thanks

Why not segregate the large pool from the smaller- family for the large one-adults only for the smaller pool. Some of us do not have young ones & would like the use of the pool to entertain out of town guests. If I would like a drink or a good cigar I wouldn't be hurting anyone. That's only fair to the "older adults."

Because there are no "slides & toys" at the Bray Birch pool, it was virtually unused last year. If you want a quiet place to go, I would suggest going to this pool instead (I'm not implying you can break the rules although).

Last summer was our first year to use the pool. We were excited when we moved into VOWS because of the pool and park area for our children/grandchildren to use and enjoy. However, after the pool opened, it was apparent that there were many 13 - 15 yr olds, unsupervised and very unruly in the pool and area around it and it was not safe or appropriate for my young grandchildren to be in the same area as they were. There was a lot of pushing, shoving and cussing going on there. There wasn't anyone there to enforce any rules or to monitor them. After a couple of times we quit going because it always ended with these kids overpowering everyone else that was trying to enjoy a nice family time there. I would LOVE to see the age raised to 18 years old!

Teens have rights to, they live with their families that pay dues and should be able to swim at their leisure. I have been at the pools when several over bearing women that have nothing better to do than "play pool nazi". It's not your job!!! I am just about sick of you parents that have small children with a "holier than thou attitudes", just wait until your kids are teens!! Most parents are responsible for their children at the pools. If any childs behaves badly then their privilages should be restricted. But just to say "all of the teens are bad" is wrong.

Personally, I think that it is crazy to require kids over the age of 14 to have to have an adult with them at the pool. The problem will not be solved with making sure that the teens have a parent with them, the problem is that we are paying for lifeguards that do not enforce pool rules. I am new this summer to the pools and the one with the life guard on duty did nothing to detour the older kids from terrorizing the younger ones, which is definately a pool safety issue. Every time my 10 yr. old ask the lifeguard if something was "allowed" the lifeguard would say, "I guess, other kids do it." I would like to think that when she gets to be 15, she can go to the pool without me having to be there to make sure she follows the rules if we are paying for a lifeguard who should enforce them. I agree it is not a babysitting service so if she does not obey, she should have her ID badge taken away and I should be notified. Just make these life guards and attendents enforce the rules that are set and don't raise the age restriction again. We have been to the Bray Birch pool several times and there is no attendant checking ID badges. I hope my home owners dues are not paying for this service too. I also like the idea of having "family" "teen" and "adult's only pool" designation for the area pools.

18 is too old. My child can drive without me at 16. It's a joke to think that I would need to go with her to the pool. In fact for me it is not possible. I have a medical condition that is aggrevated by the sun and therefore have to limit my exposure to it. As sad as it is. Vandalism is every where. It dosen't matter the age. What matters is how they are raised. Model respect and you teach it. Don't punish every teen for the actions of a few. I spent a lot of years at the grade schools. I can tell you, a 7 or 8 year old can do as much damage with their parents sitting right there not paying attention to them as any teen could. While I see that a solution may be needed to this issue at least make it a reasonable one.

I would like to see an adults only pool. Some of us don't have kids and don't want to be around them. Also if someone wants to relax with a good cigar and a cold one that should be allowed too.

Life guards should be held responsible to keep the level of horse play down at all of the pools. If they are not taking their positions seriously they should be turned in. We should set up one pool that children/teens may not attend under the age of 18 without supervision. This would allow adults and adults with very small children to enjoy their time without worrying about children/teens between the ages of 14-18 being too rowdy or unsupervised. This would leave three pools open for unaccompanied 14-18 yr olds to use.

this is ridiculous. my children should not be held accountable for the children who can not be mature enough to be at a pool without doing something immoral. parents need to be on guard a bit more if this is our concern......
